Product Manager

Summary:

This position is responsible for finding and developing the next big opportunity to help make the world work better. This role is part of the Product Development department; the mission is to evolve the CMMI, P CMM and DMM to meet stakeholder needs.  This is accomplished by doing market research to understand the needs of the market, developing plans to collaborate with stakeholders and develop solutions to meet those needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the market to determine the biggest need
  • Articulate market problems and define user personas
  • Develop and own the product roadmap for the product suite illustrating vision and key deliverables
  • Develop new product and product enhancement plans and write high-level business requirements for the product suite based on market feedback and analysis
  • Manage the design and plans for new product concepts, product specifications and customer requirements
  • Operate with a strong focus on product performance management and collection & dissemination of performance data from the user community
  • Communication and advocacy with stakeholders, including collaborators and advisory boards
  • Owns economic performance of the product suite
  • Design and execute a successful market adoption strategy

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree (M. A.) required
  • 15 years of product management experience required
  • P & L responsibilities required
  • Engineering experience required
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certified preferred
  • Certified CMMI Associate preferred

Work Environment:

Work is usually performed in an office setting. There will be close contact with a computer for long periods of time. Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required depending on deadlines. The successful candidate will be frequently required to travel on overnight assignments; assignments involving travel will comprise at least 10% of the workload, and may be as much as 50% at times.
